I am very excited to be back at Jarrell Middle School. This is my third year in education. I began my journey as an ISS Aide at Bonham Middle Schol in Temple, Texas in 2015 before moving to JMS in 2016.
I earned my Bachelor's of Arts degree in History from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduation, I enlisted in the United States Army with the military occupational specialty (MOS) of 46R, military broadcast journalist. For twelve years, I had the honor of telling the Army's story from places in Iraq to Mongolia, Japan, and Haiti, reaching an audience of more than 4.5 million people.
I retired from the Army in 2012 and enrolled in the post-baccalaureate program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Temple, where I earned my 7-12 History certification. In 2016, I earned my certification in English as a Second Language.
When not teaching US History and coaching 8th-grade girls volleyball and basketball and track I enjoy traveling around the US and the World. I am an unabashed pop culture fan and I wear my geek label with pride. I am also a huge sports nut and cheer for my beloved New York Yankees and Giants no matter how bad they are that season. I live with my husband of more than 20 years and our four, soon to be six, way too adventurous for their own good, girl cats in Killeen.
