Immunization Requirements for Incoming 7th Graders
State law requires all students entering the 7th grade to be fully immunized in accordance with guidelines set by the Texas Department of State Health Services, in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency.
In addition to the vaccines your child has already received, state law requires:
- Tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussisācontaining vaccine (Tdap): All students entering 7th grade will be required to have one dose of Tdap vaccine if it has been five years since their last dose of tetanusā containing vaccine. Td is acceptable in lieu of Tdap if a contraindication to pertussis exists.
- Meningococcal vaccine: All students entering 7th grade will be required to have one dose of meningococcal vaccine.
Thank you for helping us comply with Texas State Law. Check the JISD website, social media or Williamson County and Cities Health District for vaccine event information.
